A little secret about the BMW rear wing

There was a momentary kerfuffle on Saturday in Montreal when Honda started making noises that it might protest the BMW Sauber rear wing because of apparent evidence that the wing was flexing at high speed. The FIA has since inspected the car and declared it to be legal. This is interesting as it means that other teams can now do what BMW is doing without fear of being penalised.

The big question is what is it BMW is doing that has made Honda suspicious. If there is one team that would be in a position to understand it would be Honda because the team's chief race engineer Jacky Eeckelaert worked at Sauber until the end of last season and so understands the way the aerodynamics work on the Swiss car.
