Over the weekend

There was good news for Raikkonen Robertson Racing over the Easter weekend with two wins for Bruno Senna, nephew of the late Ayrton Senna, in the opening rounds of the British Formula 3 Championship at Oulton Park. Senna was driving a Dallara-Mercedes. This follows on from the successes of Kohei Hirate (Manor Motorsport) and Sebastian Vettel (ASM) in similar cars at the opening round of the Formula 3 Euroseries in Hockenheim a week ago.

Over in Japan Loic Duval surprised everyone with victory in the opening round of the Formula Nippon series at Suzuka in his PIAA Nakajima Racing entry. The Frenchman finished ahead of Sweden's Bjorn Wirdheim but the star of the show was Benoit Treluyer who had qualified on pole but jumped the start and had to have a drive-through penalty. He then charged back up the order until his pit stop where he lost time with a sticking wheel gun but then came back up the order again to take third at the final corner on the last lap, outfoxing Sakon Yamamoto.
