BRDC to lose Hooton

Alex Hooton, the chief executive of the British Racing Drivers Club, is to stand down at the end of June, following BRDC chairman Sir Jackie Stewart out of the door. Hooton has been with the company for five years.

The BRDC is currently in the middle of discussions about the future of Silverstone with the board having proposed a long-term lease arrangement with the property development company St Modwen but resistance from a group of members who believe that the club can survive without such an arrangement.
