GPMA-SLEC meeting not a success

The Grand Prix Manufacturers' Association met with the commercial rights holders of Formula 1 last night in Bahrain and we hear that the negotiations did not go as smoothly as had been hoped and the meeting broke up without any solution having been found. This is not good news given the fact that it looks like a decision will be needed in the next few weeks or else new problems will be created when FIA President Max Mosley opens and closes the entries for the 2008 World Championship at the end of the month.

However it is not expected that the manufacturers will put any of this information into the public domain as they long ago decided to make sure that negotiations should be kept out of the public eye, a wise decision.

In recent days there has been much talk of a solution being just days away but it seems that the negotiation is still on.
