Hockenheim to quit F1 in 2008?

Dieter Gummer, the mayor of Hockenheim has told the Stuttgarter Zeitung newspaper that the circuit will not host the German GP in 2008 unless the losses are reversed. The track currently has debts of $35m and Gummer says that unless something is done the track will not be able to afford to pay the fees needed. The debts may also cause problems for the city itself. The newspaper said that ticket sales for this year's race are down 40% this year because of the uncertainty over the future of the track.
