F1 men head for Champ Car

Plans are afoot for former F1 drivers Antonio Pizzonia and Enrique Bernoldi to join forces to turn Paul Gentilozzi's Rocketsports Racing Champ Car team into Team Brazil. The plan is for the project to be funded by Brazilian businessmen who are behind the development of a new racing facility which is under construction at Belo Horizonte. The group wants Champ Car to visit the track to help promote the state of Minas Gerais.

The race track is being built on the site of the old Serra Verde racecourse which has been leased from the local jockey club for 10 years by a company called Falgo Empreendimentos e Participacoes.

Belo Horizonte is the fourth largest city in Brazil and is the state capital of Minas Gerais.
