Changes at Hockenheim

Late last night a meeting to discuss the future of the Hockenheim-Ring broke up with the Mayor of Hockenheim Dieter Gummer announcing that his managing-director Hans Juergen von Glasenapp is to stand down from his position. Von Glasenapp will be replaced by George Seiler, who currently runs one of the other Hockenheim-Ring companies. Gummer says that the problems relate to ticket sales and that he wanted to solve the problems internally and was surprised when Von Glasenapp went to the authorities. This destroyed the relationship between the two men.

It remains to be seen what will happen with an investigation into activities at the track which is believed to be underway at the public prosecution service in Mannheim.
