A brain drain at McLaren?
The hiring of Adrian Newey from McLaren by Red Bull Racing in the autumn has led to a number of rumours about other members of staff at McLaren. There have been rumours circulating for a month that Nicolas Tombazis is looking to return to Ferrari although this has been denied on several occasions by McLaren. We have also heard of other approaches being made to senior McLaren staff members.
"Inevitably if you are successful Formula 1 staff are attracted by other teams offering them good deals," said Martin Whitmarsh. "At the moment I am not aware of any senior members of the engineering staff that are leaving."
