Top NASCAR man to head IMG
George Pyne, the chief operating of NASCAR, will leave the US racing circus this week to become president of the International Management Group, the sports marketing business founded in 1960 by the late Mark McCormack. IMG is still one of the top names in the business despite the death of McCormack and many other agencies are staffed by former IMG people. It will be interesting to see whether the arrival of Pyne will increase IMG's involvement in motor racing.
