Government support for Imola

The Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari at Imola is to have been given a $12.8 grant from the local government to fund necessary upgrading work for the circuit which long ago fell behind other circuits in terms of facilities. The circuit has been looking for funding to move the pits to the middle of the existing circuit so as to create a much large area for the paddock, which cannot grow more on the outside of the track because of a river. The work, which is due to start after this year's San Marino GP, will mean that the grandstands will move to outside of the track.
