Nelson Jr and Honda

The word in Brazil is that Nelson Piquet Jr could be seen in 2006 as the second test driver of Honda Racing F1. The team has confirmed drivers Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello and it is clear that Anthony Davidson will be the third driver once again. However the word in Sao Paulo is that Nelson Piquet Sr wants his son to get some F1 testing mileage and that there may be a backer to get Nelson Jr into the car. Honda sources are not denying the possibility but they say that there is no money involved. Such a decision would be rather odd given that the team has Adam Carroll, James Rossiter, Danilo Dirani and Alan Van der Merwe under contract.
