Schneider and Schwarz joins Race of Champions
The final teams are now being put in place for the forthcoming Race of Champions in Paris with the decision having been taken to put Champ Car winner Sebastien Bourdais and rally raid star Stephane Peterhansel together in a second French team, sponsored by Playstation. Germany has put together a team featuring multiple DTM champion Bernd Schneider and rally man Armin Schwarz. One odd man out remains in Dan Wheldon, the Indy Racing League champion, who is currently without a team mate and will take part only in the Race of Champions and not in the Nations Cup. Presumably the organisers are trying to find another English champion so that David Coulthard and Colin McRae can represent Scotland. The obvious choice is current DTM champion Gary Paffett, although he may be busy testing for McLaren and not want to spend the weekend in Paris.
