Honda and Penske

As we suggested last week, it seems that Roger Penske's Indy Racing league team will be moving to Honda power in 2006. The team has been using Toyota engines in recent years but with Toyota withdrawing from the series at the end of next year Penske is switching early. Penske is popular with Honda as the team won IRL championships with the company in 2000 and 2001 before switching to IRL, where Honda was not at the time competing.

Honda has dominated the IRL in the last couple of years with Andretti Green Racing, Rahal Letterman and Fernandez Racing winning most of the races for Honda, leaving Penske to pick up the few available scraps for Toyota.
