The IOC comes to F1

International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge is to attend the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai to see how the Chinese cope with a major international sporting event. The Olympic Games are due to be held in Beijing in 2008 and the Chinese want to show Rogge that they can host events without drama. Rogge is expected to welcome race fans by appearing on the circuit's giant TV screens.

The IOC's director of communications Giselle Davies cut her teeth in Formula 1 with the Benetton and Jordan teams before getting the job at the IOC.
