Wheldon says no to F1 - or vice versa

Indy Racing League champion Dan Wheldon says he might not be racing in Formula 1 because talks with Williams and BMW have not led to any interesting offers. This effectively ends any chance the British driver had of getting into F1 and he will almost certainly now sign a long-term IRL contract which will mean he will be too old to switch to F1 when the contract is over.

Wheldon says that he has agreed terms on a new multi-year deal with Andretti Green Racing but the contract is not yet signed. Wheldon will be seen in Europe this winter, taking part in the Race of Champions in Paris on December 3.
