Pizzonia stays on

BMW Williams has confirmed that Antonio Pizzonia will complete the year as the second driver for the team, alongside Mark Webber. Pizzonia will replace Nick Heidfeld who was out of action with an injury and who has signed to drive for the BMW team next year.

"I am delighted to be racing for another two races, especially after last weekend where I was the innocent victim of a start line accident," said Pizzonia. "The two tracks in Japan and China are real driver circuits and I hope to be able to validate this vote of confidence from the team."

Pizzonia is hoping to be signed to drive for the team next year although rumours in F1 suggest that the job is more likely to go to Nico Rosberg.
