Dumb stories

It has been a quiet day in Formula 1 circles, at least on the surface, and all manner of things have been bubbling up to fill the never-ending space on the Internet. New convoluted moves in the driver market have been dreamed up and new conspiracy theories hatched and before we know it, apparently, we will see Christian Klien in a BMW rather than in a Red Bull, which is odd considering Red Bull just bought Minardi to house Klien. And Neel Jani is being linked to a race drive in F1 although, in all probability, the Swiss youngster will be a test driver next year, while continuing his GP2 career in a better car. Scott Speed is the man most likely to be joining Klien at Minardi.

On top of all this, however, BMW would have to dump Jacques Villeneuve if it wants to take on Klien because the other seat at BMW is unlikely to go to anyone other than Nick Heidfeld.

But that's another story.
