Malaysia moves on tobacco

The Malaysian cabinet decided last week to ratify the World Health Organization's Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, which will mean new rules for tobacco companies in the country. The country will sign the treaty within two months and will then be bound to introducing more stringent anti-smoking measures.

In recent years F1 teams have run in Malaysia with full tobacco livery. Whether this will remain a possibility after the signing of the treaty is another matter as Malaysia would then have to answer to other signatories to the treaty.
