Red Bull Racing applies for 24 Hour permit

Red Bull Racing has asked the Bedford Borough Council for permission to run its new windtunnel around the clock. The windtunnel, located in the Bedford Technology Park, was formerly run by Britain's Defence Evaluation and Research Agency and was built in the 1940s to help develop jet aircraft. It is unusual in that it is built of solid concrete and thus has no problems with flexing due to high temperatures. The tunnel was acquired from the DERA by Arrows in 2001 but was later sold to Jaguar Racing. It was then sold on to Red Bull. The new tunnel will go into action in September.
