A1 has successful first test
Fifteen teams turned up for the first collective test for the new A1 Grand Prix series at Silverstone with A1 Team Great Britain setting the pace thanks to the efforts of Robbie Kerr, who set the pace with a lap of the national circuit of 48.888s. The British entry also saw Alex Lloyd driving the car. The second fastest team was Brazil which ran Nelson Piquet Jr, Danilo Dirani and Joao Paulo Oliveira. Switzerland was third with Neel Jani with France fourth with Loic Duval, Alexandre Premat and Nicolas Lapierre all appearing the car. Amongst the others to be seen testing were former F1 drivers Pedro Lamy (Portugal), Alex Yoong (Malaysia) and Jos Verstappen (Holland).
