Manning leaves Ganassi

Darren Manning has parted ways with Target Chip Ganassi Racing. The Indy Racing League team will run only Scott Dixon and Ryan Briscoe this weekend at the Michigan International Speedway. Manning has had a poor season with the team, scoring only one sixth place at the first race of the year. At the recent Milwaukee race he complained of handling problems and did not make a qualifying attempt and so started from the back of the field and after two early pit stops he parked the car.

Manning joined the team at the end of 2003 after being unable to break into F1 as a BAR-Honda test driver.

Target Chip Ganassi Racing has had a poor year with Dixon's best being sixth place and Briscoe having managed only eighth.
