A big crowd for Friday
There was a big crowd at Silverstone on Friday for the first practice for the British Grand Prix and although some of this was no doubt due to the three-day ticket philosophy at Silverstone, the numbers were no doubt boosted by the fact that Londoners had been told by the authorities not to go to work if it was not entirely necessary following the London bombs and instead decided to head for Silverstone for their unexpected day-off.
