The importance of the British Grand Prix
The greatest weapon that the civilised world has against the sort of people who perpetrate acts of violence such as were seen yesterday in London is normality. It is the best way to show them that their appalling plots will do nothing except strengthen the resolve to make sure that such people are hunted down. The best thing that motor racing can do is to use the British Grand Prix as a symbol to the world that in Britain there may be pain but it is business as usual.
It is a time to forget the petty squabbles of the sport - which mean nothing at such moment.
