Weber to run German A1 team?
Michael Schumacher's manager Willi Weber is tipped to have acquired the right to run an A1 Grand Prix team for Germany. The 63-year-old has been running different racing operations since 1984 when he joined forces with Klaus Trella to establish the Weber Trella Stuttgart team. The team won its first German Formula 3 title in 1988 with Jo Winkelhock. Michael Schumacher won a second title in 1990 and in 1992 and 1993 the team won again with Pedro Lamy and Jos Verstappen. By the mid 1990s Weber's major source of income was from managing the Schumacher brothers, a business which has made him probably hundreds of millions of dollars. He has also dabbled in merchandising with other clients, including model Claudia Schiffer.
The deal is yet to be confirmed.
