Bellm resigns

Ray Bellm has resigned from the British Racing Drivers' Club and all the various positions that he held in the subsidiary structures. Bellm wrote to the chairman Stuart Rolt on Monday, quitting the club of which he was chairman until February. Bellm and BRDC President Sir Jackie Stewart came to blows earlier this year over the deal for the British Grand Prix to stay at Silverstone for five years, Stewart wanting a deal for only three years. The subsequent battle came to a head with a vote last week over whether Stewart should be removed from office. The Scotsman won the vote and so Bellm is leaving the club.
