Sixty-five and counting...

The World Health Organization's Framework Convention on Tobacco Control is currently deposited at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and remains open for governments to sign at any time. There are likely to be more signatures in the days ahead as world leaders gather for a session of the UN General Assembly this week but in the last days the list has grown to 65 countries with Saudi Arabia joining the anti-smoking treaty.

Saudi Arabia is not a big player in the motorsport world, although logically it ought to be with lots of money from oil and lots of open space. However, interest in racing in the Middle East is growing fast and it is interesting that the biggest country in the region has now signed up.
