Todt talks to Schumacher

Jean Todt recognises things of value and so its is really not a big surprise that he is trying to talk Michael Schumacher into staying on at Ferrari after his contract comes to a close at the end of next year. Schumacher has not said that he is interested in staying on but has always said that age is not the important question and that what really matters is commitment. Schumacher has won seven World Championships, five of them with Ferrari and there is much talk that the team will implode when he decides to leave as others take the opportunity to go into retirement as well. Schumacher has been with Ferrari since 1996 and, to a large extent, the team is built around him.

The stories in Italy made be related to the fact that there are rumours that Fernando Alonso is in talks to join Ferrari.
