The government of the state of Styria says it will rebuild the A1 Ring despite the fact that Red Bull has withdrawn it support for the project which was to have upgraded the Zeltweg facility to create a top level circuit. That plan was blocked by environmentalists. This left problems as the work to demolish the track had already started and much work is needed to put the track back into a state where it can be used. It is not clear whether the government funding will be enough to get the circuit to a level at which it could bid for F1.
