The shake-up at Fiat continues

Fiat continues to restructure dramatically after the deal with GM and it has been announced that the chief executive of Fiat Auto Herbert Demel has been axed after just 15 months in the job. His position will go to Sergio Marchionne, chief executive of the Fiat group, who is going to both jobs.

Demel seems to be carrying the can for Fiat Auto's poor performance in recent years and because his efforts to fix the problem were not successful enough quickly enough.

It is however a big job.
