Glock tries out for Rocketsports

Timo Glock was among the drivers testing Champ Cars last weekend at Sebring in Florida. The German has missed out on a drive in Formula 1 and has been in America looking for a job with Paul Gentilozzi's Rocketsports, which has a drive going alongside Alex Tagliani. The car was taken over the following day by Ryan Hunter-Reay who is the man expected to get the drive. That will leave Glock with a limited choice of seats unless he has enough money to pay for a third car at Newman Haas Racing or an extra car at Forsythe Championship Racing. Glock is believed to have a budget which will make him attractive to the Champ Car teams.

Also seen testing at Sebring were Cristiano da Matta (PKV Racing), former Indy Lights driver Matt Halliday from New Zealand who was running with Mi-Jack/Conquest Racing alongside another European hopeful Bruce Jouanny, who spent 2004 in the Nissan World Series. The team also gave Toyota Atlantic runner Alex Figge a try. Mi-Jack Conquest as just announced that it has re-signed France's Nelson Philippe for the season. It is worth noting that Mi-Jack Conquest has also just hired Bruce Ashmore, the man who designed successful Lolas and Reynards in the 1990s. This should give the team a much-needed technical boost.
