The GP2 scene

There is still some doubt as to a number of drives in the new GP2 series presumably because one or two Formula 1 drives is still in play and drivers like Robert Doornbos might still be available for the GP2 teams.

At the moment we have confirmation from Arden (Heikki Kovalainen and Nicolas Lapierre), BCN (Ernesto Viso and Esteban Guerrieri), Campos Racing (Juan Cruz Alvares and Sergio Hernandez), DAMS (Jose Maria Lopez and Fairuz Fauzy), David Price Racing (Ryan Sharp and Olivier Pla), Durango (Clivio Piccione and Ferdinando Monfardini) and HiTech Piquet (Nelson Piquet Jr and Xandinho Negrao) confirmed.

The new ART team will run Nico Rosberg and probably Alexandre Premat, Coloni has signed ex-F1 driver Gianmaria Bruni and may sign Richard Antinucci, iSport International has a deal with American Scott Speed but is looking for a second driver, while there is no word yet on Super Nova. Racing Engineering has a deal with Borja Garcia and the word on the street is that the second seat will go to Neel Jani. Presumably the team will have backing from usual backer Repsol and money for Jani from Red Bull.
