Hamilton joins ASM

France's ASM Formule 3 dominated the Formula 3 Eurocup last season with drivers Jamie Green and Alexandre Premat finishing 1-2 in the series with the team's third driver Eric Salignon sixth overall. Green, Premat, Nicolas Lapierre and Nico Rosberg (the first four in the title race) are all moving up to GP2 this year and the man who finished fifth, Lewis Hamilton, has been hired by ASM to try to continue the team's winning streak. He will be joined by Germany's Adrian Sutil who made a good impression at the end of the year when he stood in for Salignon after the Frenchman was injured in a road accident. Hamilton will thus start the year as favourite for the prestigious title. Salignon's future is not yet clear but he is now recovered from the injuries he received in a road accident in September last year when he was in an accident in his Smart road car. He suffered from two fractures in his lower back and a broken collar bone.
