Laudas lambast GP2

Mathias Lauda, the son of triple World Champion Niki Lauda, says he is more interested in going to America to race in Champ Cars than to compete in the new GP2 series. The 22-year-old Austrian, who has not done anything to really impress in his Formula 3000 career to date, is rumoured to be talking about buying a drive with Gerry Forsythe.

"It is easier to find a budget of $3m for Champ Cars than it is to find $1.2m for a series such as the GP2, where no one knows how it will evolve," Lukas Lauda, Mathias's brother and manager, told Autosport magazine.
