Pitchforth eyes F1 scene

David Pitchforth says that he was already looking around at other possibilities for work before he was dumped by Red Bull Racing this morning. The Yorkshireman, who was managing director of the team until this morning, says that he was aware that there were problems with the relationship between the English end of the operation and the Austrians but says that he was hoping that a meeting being planned for next week would get the management structure sorted out.

Pitchforth is now on "gardening leave" until the legal details of the split are sorted out and says that he is still interested in being involved in Formula 1 if the right opportunity presents itself. Pitchforth made a good impression with Jaguar Racing despite the lack of resources available from Ford.

"If there is a situation where I can do things in the right way, in a professional way, then I would like to do Formula 1," he said.
