A CBE for DR

David Richards, chairman of Prodrive and until recently the chief executive of British American Racing, has been named a Commander of the Order of the British Empire for his services to motor sport. Richards has enjoyed enormous success since he set up Prodrive in 1984 and has built the business into a major British exporter while also winning six World Rally Championship titles for Subaru and a variety of other titles, notably in the British Touring Car Championship. It was under Richards's management that BAR emerged as runners-up in the F1 Constructors' Championship.

Richards's next challenge will be to try to win the Le Mans 24 Hours with the new Aston Martin team.
