Prizegivings go on and on
This weekend has seen more of the annual flurry of prizegiving galas with the FIA holdings is annual gala at the Sporting Club in Monaco. The big news of the evening was the award for the best Grand Prix of 2004 being made to Bahrain. This was a surprise as it was expected that China would dominate the competition with facilities which were well beyond those seen in Bahrain.
New events traditionally do well in the competition.
The Italian Casco d'Oro (golden helmet) awards also took place in Italy, organised by Autosprint magazine. Not surprisingly Ferrari did well. Ferrari itself held a big party in Maranello to celebrate the successes of the 2004 season.
