Australians push for F1 promotion in Sydney

The New South Wales government is considering an application for a promotional event to be held on Sydney Harbour Bridge on the weekend before the Australian Grand Prix in March. The plan, put forward by BMW Australia, is for Mark Webber to drive a Williams-BMW F1 car across Sydney's most famous landmark. The aim is to increase the visibility of F1 in Australia and point out that there is now an Australian driver in a top F1 team.

There are plans for a street event in Melbourne a few days later to attract more people to the main event in Albert Park on March 3.
