Sauber gets a new supercomputer

Sauber has a new supercomputer built for the firm by the Swiss technology company Dalco. The Linux cluster computer will be the fastest in Formula 1 and also one of the most powerful in the automotive industry. It will be 30 times more powerful than Sauber's previous computer and has cost the team $4.5m. The computer is capable of 2,332,000,000,000 calculations per second. The maximum data transfer rate between all the compute engines is 240 GBytes per second.
