Shanghai spreads its wings
The Shanghai International Circuit has landed a deal to hold a MotoGP race for seven years. The first event will take place in Shanghai on May 1. The deal has been put together by the promotional company Dorna Sports, which runs the series.
The news means that the vast investment made to create the impressive Chinese facility will be offset as the bike racers will attract big crowds and will bring more tourists and interest to the city and to China as a whole, in the run up to the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008.
