Indians back Ferrari
India's Tata conglomerate is to become involved with Ferrari by way of its Tata Consultancy Services, which has agreed a deal to provide the Italian team with information technology and engineering services. The company will also provide software solutions for Ferrari sports cars. The deal is for several years. Tata is India's largest industrial conglomerate, comprises around 100 different companies, including iron and steel, engineering, commercial vehicles and hotels.
The company is based on a textile firm which was established by Jamsetji Tata in 1868. The company is still family-controlled.
