David Coulthard showed up in Paris for the Race of Champions event and confirmed that he is talking with Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz about a drive with Red Bull Racing in 2005 but no deal is done yet. Coulthard is one of several candidates for one of the two available drives along with Christian Klien, Vitantonio Liuzzi and Nick Heidfeld. The last-named is much more likely to be involved at BMW Williams while Klien is an Austrian favourite and that would leave the promising Liuzzi would only a test drive on offer. If that was the case we would expect to see Liuzzi switch to Jordan as he wants to get into racing and not waste time as a test driver. In tests with Sauber and Red Bull Racing he has proved that he is good enough to jump straight into F1 and it may be that there will offers from other teams if only a Red Bull test drive is available.
