Van Hooydonk to test for Minardi

Belgium's Jeffrey Van Hooydonk will test a Minardi F1 car at Misano later this week. The 27 year old from Antwerp raced for Coloni and Super Nova Racing in the FIA International Formula 3000 series in 2004 although without scoring any major results. His major claim to fame prior to that was victory in the Formula Renault Eurocup in 1997 after which he moved to German Formula 3 and briefly Formula 3000 in 1999 before he found himself in the Belgian Procar Series. He went back to F3 in 2002 to rebuild his open-wheeler career and then returned to F3000 in 2003 with Astromega.

Van Hooydonk is the latest of a string of drivers to appear in Minardis in the last few days with Chanoch Nissany, Tiago Monteiro, Patrick Friesacher, Will Power, Will Davison, Zsolt Baumgartner, Christijan Albers, Patrick Friesacher, Nicolas Kiesa and Pastor Maldonado having all been seen in the cars at Misano.
