Testing in Barcelona

The Formula 1 teams continued to test in Barcelona and at the end of the day of running it was Felipe Massa who emerged fastest overall in his Sauber. The Brazilian was two-tenths faster than the Toyota of Jarno Trulli who was a tenth faster than his team mate Ralf Schumacher. Mark Webber was fourth quickest in his Williams.

Fifth quickest was Tonio Liuzzi in the Red Bull, the Italian nearly a second quicker today than Christian Klien but still two-tenths off the Austrian's best from Wednesday. However, this was still an impressive effort by the F1 newcomer who completed a total of 89 laps in the course of the day, an indication that fitness is not a problem.

Sixth fastest was Giancarlo Fisichella in the Renault ahead of Antonio Pizzonia (Williams), Juan Pablo Montoya (McLaren), Alexander Wurz (McLaren) and Luca Badoer (Ferrari). The others running were the Ferrari of Marc Gene, the two BAR-Hondas of Enrique Bernoldi and Jenson Button and the Renault of Franck Montagny.
