An interesting decision

Ma-Con Engineering, the Formula 3000 team Ma-Con has announced that it is not going to be joining the new GP2 series but rather plans to compete in the rival Formula Superfund championship. This is the first significant team to move from Formula 3000 to Formula Superfund rather than GP2. Ma-Con finished third in the Formula 3000 series this year behind Arden and BCN Competicion. GP2 is still to name the 12 teams which are supposed to be entering the series with the message.

Formula Superfund has also attracted a new entrant in BraDrive, a team which will be run for Brazilian drivers by former Coloni engineer Peter Wyss. The team is rumoured to be talking to Tuka Rocha and Gustavo Sondermann.
