Bourdais looks for work in F1

Sebastien Bourdais has rung up Frank Williams in an effort to get a job in Formula 1. The new Champ Car World Series title winner says that he rang the Williams factory on Monday morning, as soon as he had wrapped up his American title and wanted to find out if Williams was aware of his flag-to-flag victory in Mexico City.

The Williams team is testing Anthony Davidson and Nick Heidfeld in the next few weeks but the drive is still likely to go to Antonio Pizzonia. That would put Heidfeld into a strong position for the job of third driver because Davidson is under contract to BAR-Honda and will not be released unless there is a race drive available for him. Thus he cannot become the reserve driver at Williams. Bourdais, a former Formula 3000 champion in Europe before he went to America, is keen to become Franc's next F1 driver but does not have the sponsorship to pay for his way into F1.
