Europeans go head-to-head at Suzuka

The Formula Nippon Championship comes to a head this weekend at Suzuka with Andre Lotterer (PIAA Nakajima) and Richard Lyons (DoCoMo Dandelion) battling for the title. Also in the hunt but only as a longshot is Yuji Ide (Mobilecast Impul). Lotterer has the advantage with a four point lead over Lyons but with 10 points for a win and six for second, all Lyons has to do is win and the title will be his as he would have the same score as Lotterer (if the German finishes second) but would take the title thanks to his three wins to Lotterer's two. The battle for the championship may be complicated by the fact that there are several other drivers who have been very competitive this year, notably Ide's team mate Benoit Treluyer and Satoshi Motoyama (ADirect 5Zigen). In the last race Ide won from Lyons and Lotterer.
