Rossiter heading for Europe
Rising British racing star James Rossiter is believed to have signed a deal to race for the Signature team in the Formula 3 Eurocup next year. The 21-year-old who finished third in the British F3 Championship this year at his first attempt, will now be able to learn the major European circuits and expand his horizons beyond the British scene. Rossiter's only previous experience of open-wheeler racing is two seasons of Formula Renault in 2002 and 2003 and he did very little karting, which make his recent achievements all the more impressive. Rossiter won three of the 24 rounds of the British series this year but was on the podium a total of 12 times and set lap records at three circuits, including Spa.
Rossiter is due to join Signature for the end of season Macau GP where he will partner Giedo van der Garde and Loic Duval against the best F3 talents of the year, including Eurocup winner Jamie Green, Japanese champion Ronnie Quintarelli and his regular rival British F3 champion Nelson Piquet Jr. The Macau event takes place on November 21.
The annual Korean Superprix event has been cancelled by the new government but there will be another big gathering of the F3 clans in Bahrain on December 10.
