Champ Cars know the way to San Jose

The Champ Car World Series has announced a 14-race schedule for 2005, including two new events: one on the streets of Edmonton in Canada and the other a street race in San Jose, California. The race in Silicon Valley is expected to be run by Bob Singleton, the man who in recent years has been running the successful Molson Indy races in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. He recently resigned from Molstar Sports and Entertainment, the beer company's promotional subsidiary.

The season begins in Long Beach on April 14 and runs until the finale in Mexico City on November 6. There will be two ovals on the calendar: the traditional Milwaukee Mile event and a race in Las Vegas. Missing from the current calendar are Vancouver and Road America.
