Williams team escapes road smash

The Williams marketing department had a lucky escape on Sunday morning when the van in which they were travelling was hit at high speed by another car on the way to the circuit. Fortunately none of them were seriously hurt although head of marketing Jim Wright and senior account manager Christopher Styring were taken to hospital but neither has any serious injuries. Also in the van were account managers David Owen and Peter Phillips. Phillips is the grandson of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, being the son of the Princess Royal.

The four were helped by FIA doctors Sid Watkins and Gary Hartstein who were also travelling to the circuit and an ambulance from the circuit was on the scene within minutes.
