A contract to be recognised today

The Contract Recognition Board meets today in Geneva, Switzerland, to decide whether Jenson Button should drive for Williams or for BAR in 2005 and 2006. The procedure is unlikely is unlikely to be completed today and it is thought that the earliest we will hear a ruling is on Friday. If there are more complicated issues to unravel the decision could be delayed further. Although all the signatories to the Concorde Agreement agree to abide by the Contract Recognition Board there remains the possibility that the matter could end up in the High Court if the parties involved do not feel that the board had addressed the issues involved. There is also the possibility that a decision will be made and Button will go ahead and do what he wants to do, although this would obviously involve a financial settlement being agreed between the parties involved.
